Thumbs DOWN: 2007 Chrysler Aspen

The Chrysler Aspen has several problems, as I see it. First, that name Aspen recalls the awful Dodge Aspen of the 1970’s – one of the worst recalled vehicles ever. Is that the kind of thing you want to recall? Second, its styling is incredibly bland. Bland is not how you make your product noticed in the crowed luxury SUV segment. Third, the Aspen is based on the lowly Dodge Durango and you can only really get away with that when you are creating a segment – Escalade. All in all I don’t see this selling beyond the die-hard Mopar crowd that until now hasn’t had a Luxury SUV option. ZZZZZZ.
